Origin of the Shaktipeeth

According to Hindu mythology, the Sri Puruhutika Shaktipeeth is where Goddess Sati’s left hand is believed to have fallen when Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshana Chakra to dismember her body. This temple is thus considered one of the most sacred Shaktipeethas.
